things to know about LED
Light color
Light is not just white, but is perceived differently by people according to "light color". The so-called color temperature of the light is measured in Kelvin (K). The higher the value, the more white / bluish the light.
Color rendering index (CRI)
Besides the light color, the color reproducibility of a light source determines its quality. The value is given in Ra. The smaller the value, the worse is the light quality. According to EU regulation 245/2009 (EUP) a color reproduction index of at least 80 Ra is required.
Luminous flux
The luminous flux is measured in lumens (lm) and measures the amount of light emitted in all directions.
Lighting strength
The illuminance (E) is given in lux (lx) or lumen per square meter and is the luminous flux on a surface.
